The village of Strazov, of which the place is part off,
is described in history for the first time in 1350.
It has arisen as a defence place for caravans of traders,
which, at first with salt and later also with leather and silver,
coming from Salzburg and travelling towards Klatovy were
often attacked by gangs of robbers.

The only thing that remembers at this time is a copy of the city-arms,
which is placed above the entrance of the town hall.
Today you will find in this village a small supermarket, for daily shopping,
as well as a postoffice, bank, family doctor and a dentist.
